I’m Nick Quenet – A triathlete with a desire for detail and a palate for quality ice cream. Currently living and training in Stellenbosch, South Africa and aspiring to make a name for myself in the triathlon world while juggling studying at university. It’s highly likely that you would find me either swimming in water or slogging out miles on the bike or by foot – whichever seems to make the journey more enjoyable.
Why do I run? That’s simple. When I run I’m free. My mind is open; my body is relaxed. It’s only me and the surface beneath my shoes. In this state, all responsibilities disappear just for a moment. When I run I find inner peace and self-satisfaction. It’s something non-runners will never understand, but it’s a zone I crave to be in.
Sport is more than just a game for me; it’s a lifestyle. I’ve had so many indescribable experiences and unforgettable memories during my sporting endeavors. I love to experience all the unique cultures and vast towns I come across when I travel abroad for races and training. Therefore, when I got the invite to run the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, it really was a no-brainer. I can’t wait to absorb all the sights and sounds of L.A. See you at the start line!
